Winter Garden
Well, not a real winter garden like they set up in Europe. Just a garden I went for a wander through on a sunny winter’s day. There were no flowers or gorgeous autumn leaves left by then, but it was still beautiful.
It’s Pirianda Garden up in the Dandenong Ranges, and I’ve been there many times before. It’s a lovely garden, and I really enjoy it there — which is exactly why I keep going back. So off I went again for a walk with the camera.
For a bit of a change, I brought along some different lenses this time. My usual walk-around lens is the 24-70mm f/2.8, and it’s a genuinely great lens. But instead of that, I took the 70-200mm telephoto and the 15-30mm ultra wide-angle. Both are Tamron, both with an f/2.8 aperture.
With the long lens I zoomed in on interesting little details, and with the wide-angle I got right down into the grass and close to the trees to create that sense of actually being there. Whether it came off is up to you to judge. Have a look:
