Golden Autumn

April in Australia is the height of golden autumn. To be honest, Australian trees don’t really turn yellow or shed their leaves in autumn. If you want to admire golden autumn in Australia, you’ll only find it in gardens with trees of European, American, or Asian origin. Thankfully, there are quite a few such gardens around Melbourne.

This time, without overthinking it, I decided to head to one of the best-known and most popular spots — the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden. Since it’s inevitably packed with people on weekends, I went there on a weekday morning instead. The plan worked, and there were only a handful of visitors around.

There’s not much else to tell, really. I walked around the garden (ended up being a solid 6 km stroll) and took photos of the colourful foliage. Here’s the haul:
